Hi,

I'm using the TUSB8041 to create a standalone usb hub without the need for a PC. I want to plug in in one-side my phone and on the other side a thumb drive, so I can copy my pictures from my phone to the thumbdrive.

Also the hub should be used for charging with an max. of 1.5A.

My idea was to use the 4-port Hub as a starting point and simply delete everything i don't need and add everything I will need.
I've added 3 TPS2546 for charging control, to achieve a max current of 1.5A and let everything around the TUSB8041 like in the reference design.

Now my question: Because my phone doesn't connect to the thumbdrive, if booth are connected, was the TUSB8041 the right choice for this task?

Hello,
Yes, the TUSB8041 can do this, most important is whether your phone can, your phone will have to support a USB Host controller and USB Hub class in order to enumerate the Hub, many times the phones just support specific USB classes which they are going to directly work with like Mass storage for thumb drives or HID for external keyboards.

Can you share your schematics just to make sure everything is correct?
