High speed swing mismatch on OMAP5432 + SN65DSI83

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65DSI83

Hi all,

As I know OMAP5432 supports MIPI D-PHY standard v1.1 and SN65DSI83 supports MIPI D-PHY standard v1.0, however the maximum transmitter swing amplitude has the same definition both on LP: 1.2V (peak) and HS: 200mV (peak).

I tried to measure the high speed swing on SN65DSI83 input side. Please refer following waveforms.

1. Input frequency

2. Input jitter

3. Input rise

I found the high speed swing around 340mV. It seemed the result was out of spec both on OMAP5432 and SN65DSI83. But the strange way is I can still get the right display on LCD panel.

Here are my concerns as below.

1. May I know the measurement is correct or not? If not, please provide the standard method for MIPI D-PHY signal check.

2. Assume 340mV from OMAP5432 could not be changed swing, please help to confirm SN65DSI83 can still support this swing amplitude or not.

Thanks in advance.

B.R.
