I am investigating using this the TMDS361B in a new automotive design and I have a few questions:

1) What is the worst case switching time between HDMI inputs?

2) Are there any EVBs or any other tools available for project design?

3) Is this IC readily available for small quantity prototype builds?

4) Are there any plans for this IC to be obsolete in the near future?

    Hi Gregg,

    The worst case switching time between inputs is not given by TMDS361B, it is by HDMI sources and if you are transmitting protected video, when transmitting protected we have seen delays around 2.5 seconds. Switching behaves the same as connecting a device

    We don't have EVM on sell, but we can provide layout files for fabrication.

    You can request samples or buy small quantities from TI or distributors.

    I'm not aware of this device getting obsolete in the near future, this is the only 3-to-1 switch for HDMI we have it supports up to 3Gbps.
