TUSB8020B performance test report

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB8020B

Hi Sirs,

Sorry to bother you.

We would like use TUSB8020B.

If we only extend one port, this port can keep 5G?

If  Yes, have any test report can share?

Thanks for your reply.

  • Hello,
The USB Host controller is the one that assigns the bandwidth to all the USB downstream devices, so yes, having only one downstream device will imply that the Host will assign all the available bandwidth to that USB device.
The data throughput will depend on more factors like the operating system, host controller, PCIe Gen... The 5Gbps number is the bit throughput, the actual data throughput will be less due to all the protocol overhead the USB adds and the mentioned factors.
