convert from 10Gbase-KR to 1Gbase-T

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLK10031

Is there a TI solution for converting from 10Gbase-KR to 1Gbase-T?  Supposedly through this forum I will be contacted by an Applications Engineer...

  • Hi Keith,

This looks like an ethernet transceiver application that may be supported by our sister high-speed group in Dallas. However, I am only aware of XAUI/10GBASE-KR transceivers, such as the TLK10031.

The high-speed Ethernet products starting with "DS" (which we support in this forum), i.e. the redrivers and retimers, only perform signal conditioning on the high-speed serial bit stream and do not perform high speed link aggregation.

I'll route your question to the Consumer/Computing Interface Forum to see if they have any thoughts.

    Regards,

    Michael
  • Hi Keith,

We do not have any device that supports 10GBASE-KR and 1000Base-T. As Michael mentioned, there are several devices that supports 10GBASE-KR and 1GBase-T separately. I mean, you will need an indirect solution (maybe 2 chips to convert from KR to base-T), but we do not have a device that support both layers KR & T.
