TUSB8040A versus TUSB8040A1

If the TUSB8040A1 is the exact replacement for TUSB8040A, does that mean I can use the A version for my production board which was designed for the A1 version?  Was this change only a documentation change and the IC's are identical?

    Hi Glenn,

    TUSB8040A1 is an improved version of TUSB8040A in which errata items that are required for USB Implementers Forum certification has been fixed .
    Both are P2P compatible so you can replace it on existing design.

    By the way, we recommend to use TUSB8041 instead.

    I have a customer that needs to do ten boards using the TUSB8041A1 quickly, but no-one seems to have any in stock (they need ten of them). They asked whether they could use the "A" (vs. "A1") version instead, and I told them about the errata that you mention. They are asking for more information about what those errata are, and I cannot find any details anywhere about this. Can you help?
