Hi Team,

I got a DP-EXPANSION-EVM and two TPS65986EVM to evaluate a DisplayPort Alternate Mode and USB data.
If I connect the barrel jack at sink side board as the following, both D5 LEDs of  source side TPS65986EVM and sink side TPS65986EVM blink on and off.
VBUS shows about 20V in this case.

On the other hand, if I connect the barrel jack at source side board as the following, D5 LED of source side TPS65986EVM is on and that of sink side TPS65986EVM is off.
VBUS shows 5V in this case.

Could you tell me what does D5 LED indicate?

Best Regards,
Yaita / Japan disty

  • D5 is being used to indicate Low Voltage contract (5V = solid ON) as a Sink.
D5 also has an EVM-specific FW routine to indicate a High Voltage contract as a Source or Sink (20V = blinking every 1 sec).

The meaning of these LEDs will change when the EVM FW is overwritten with Application-specific FW configured in the TPS6598X-CONFIG Tool.
