TPS65983 config tool version 2.7 setting issue on INTEL Alpine Ridge

Hi Sirs

I use new TPS65983 config tool version 2.7 on Alpine Ridge SP project.

We use Intel tool combine TPS65983's setting, but we can't find USB device information and Thunderbolt can't link as below figure.

We can work when we use TPS65983 config tool version old version (V2.5). Do you know what mistake point on my setting?

    Hi,

    It looks like the Billboard device was not detected properly. We are looking into this issue.

    Hi Arun sir

    We try another setting, the billboard device can be detected, but it can't start work as below.

    The billboard setting as below.

    We find out VID/PID different between billboard and unknown USB device as below.

    Results : When we are setting on billboard, the TB can't link.

    Hi,

    The VID of 0x8087 is for Intel. We are not supposed to use that VID in our device. The customer should provide their own VID. The billboard information is in the firmware and is not configurable by App Config(except for VID and PID). So the register 0x47 not filled doesn't matter.

    As for the Billboard issue, it looks like Microsoft yet hasn't Billboard spec v1.2. Only once Microsoft has implemented it, the TPS65983 device would be come as a Billboard device properly on Windows 10 PC.
