User Guide for Software "TPS6598x Application Customizer"

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS6598X-CONFIG, TPS65982

Hi,

Is there any user guide for "TPS6598x Application Customizer" .

Anyway,I need to get a firmware that can support voltage out from vBus(5v) to PP_HV and works at USB3.0+DP(2 Lanes)mode. How could I configure the software to output a correct firmware file?

Please help!

  • The TPS6598X-CONFIG Config Tool is the Application Customization Tool.

The User's Guide has been updated to reflect the name change and can be found here:

The name change is based on a new feature called "Application Customization" that allows the Configuration data to be modified in the Header of the binary (.bin) file. Every Read/Write Register of the TPS65982 can be set by identifying the I2C Address of the part and following it with Reg. #'s and Register Data. This allows for the daisy-chaining of 2 or more TPS65982 devices with different default settings.

It also allows the Configuration Settings to be modified based on 2 other new features: GPIO control or Entry of a custom "User Alternate Mode" based on the Manufactures Specific Vendor ID (SVID).

  • Hi Brian,

    Thanks for your kindly reply!

OK, here's my question, I got an EVM board, like this

and found out that the original flash file which stored in the 25Q809(U1 position)can make the TPS65982 to output 5v from vbus to PP_HV, but the recovery file that the configuration tool provided didn't show the same, no voltage detected in PP_HV. So, what the difference between this 2 bin file?

And I have attached the both bin file, the tps65982.bin file is I read out from the EVM flash, the another file is outputted from the configuration tool.
