Our customer has this question:

We have the TLK10022 part configured in  4 lane mode, but we only have 1 2.5Gbps lane  connected to the INBP/N0 input of the chip. 

Will the part be able to recognize that only 1 lane is active or is the part expecting to see 4 valid inputs?

    Hi Dave,

    The TLK10022 is able to operate in 1 x (0.5 to 2.5Gbps) to 1 x (0.5 to 2.5Gbps), hence could you clarify why are you configuring the device in 4 lane mode since you are using only 1 lane?
    Also, regardless of the number of lanes connected, the filler data will be placed on any unused lanes in order to keep the interleaved lane ordering constant.
