DS110DF1610 / about RESET_IO_B pin

As per datasheet: the RESET_IO_N pin resets registers and state machines on rising edge. Pulse LOW for minimum of 10μs to perform reset. Pin should be

pulled HIGH during power on.

In fact, our customer set RESET_IO_B to be held at LOW during power on, about 10 seconds. Is there a possibility that a problem may arise?

Hi Kato-san. i see two possible issues:

1. Pin is not pulled high right during power on.
2. The low pulse of 10seconds seems too long.

Does customer have to change the power up sequence of their system board ? Would you tell me the issues that are assumed?

I would recommend that, yes. Otherwise, we have to go back and set up new tests on our retimer on TI side.

I checked with our design team and confirmed that we cannot support this RESET_IO_N startup condition requested by your customer. Pleaase encourage the customer to implement a startup condition as per the TI retimer datasheet.

If customer execute unsupported RESET_IO_N startup, is there a possibility that device destruction will occur ?

No. it is mainly a functional issue.
