XIO1100 Proper Rotation?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: XIO1100

For the XIO1100 chip, we have a non-working prototype board, and are uncertain what is the correct rotation for the XIO1100 chip on the PCB. The datasheet is useless in this regard. Which of the following four chip corners is nearest ball "A1"??: a) Corner with no markings. b) Corner with large circle (with printing inside). c) Corner with small circle (dimple). d) Corner with large circle (plain). Thanks for your help...

  • Hello Bruce,

What packaging are you using? GGB? ZGB?

Can you please provide a picture of the device so we can check all of the references you are mentioning? That way we will be able to provide a better insight on this.

The image below is for the ZGB package. According to this diagram, A1 pin should be located on the bottom-left corner when seeing the device from the top.

  • We are using the "ZGB" (unleaded RoHS) part. Sorry, I am unable to send you a good picture. I assume that the "green" and "non-green" packages have the exact same pinout. It appears as though we are using the correct part orientation (rotation), with the small dimple corner being closest to pin A1. It would be really helpful if this important little detail were mentioned somewhere in the datasheet.
