Hi Support,

The PCA9306 recommends connecting EN and VREF2 together with a 200kohm pull up resistor.

Please advise if there are any potential issues if VREF2 is connected directly to a power rail. Refer to the schematic snapshot below.

Hi ikon,

Is there a specific reason for having this two Voltage references at the same voltage? This is a level translating switch, so I want to know what the motivation/application is for this.

Hi Siby,

The 3V3_GEN will still be powered up for a few seconds after the input supply is cut.

The 3V3_VIOP is cut once the input supply is cut.

The IC is used so that there is no current backflow when one of the supplies is lost during a brownout condition.

Hi ikon,

Thank you for the follow up. I figured this was the case for this schematic. I've seen this work before, but I will double check with the team. The reason, the datasheet is saying this isn't possible is due to the application being a unique use case. I believe this to be a fine application for PCA9306.
