Is there any problem with overdriving the differential inputs of the TSB81BA3E with 1.2 - 1.5V signal? Does the device saturate at high input drive levels? What datasheet spec governs this?

The IEEE1394 spec indicates an input range of 168mV - 265mV

Hello,
Are you referring to the TPA and TPB I/Os? If so, the spec you are looking for is the VID located in Table 6.3 in the datasheet.

Hello,

The terminals are 1.5V tolerant, but you have to meet the VID for data transmission.
