Does TPS65982 FW change as Alpine Ridge changed?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65982

Is there any TPS65982 FW changed was happen or is need to be change with ‘C1 step Alpine Ridge’?

(Customer said, ‘C1 step’ is like revision version of Alpine Ridge, if you have more information, please share with me)

Customer is testing TPS65982 with ‘Alpine Ridge C1 step’ and have no-booting issue

So they asked whether there was FW change is needed with TPS65982

I do not have information with ‘Alpine Ridge C1 step’ and whether there was NVM update or not

Please let me know compatibility of TPS65982 FW and ‘C1 step of Alpine Ridge’

Thank you

  • Hi,

Normally there should not be any change required in the TPS65982 firmware when the Alpine ridge version changes. If more features are added to this alpine ridge then Intel releases a new reference design. For new reference design there may be some changes required in the configuration of TPS65982 firmware. If no new Reference design is available with this 'C1 Step revision' we can fairly assume that the behavior of TPS65982 firmware requires no change.
