Dear Sir 

Customer would like to do short detect ,if input short to GND,we can indicate low or high to MCU

Could SN65HVS885 support this feature ,do you have recommend solution ??

    Hi Kai,

    If the parallel (field) inputs of the SN65HVS885 device are shorted to GND, the input voltage would fall below the low-level input threshold value (4 V minimum). So, the state of that input would be reported as a logic low level when read out on the serial interface (SOP). This would be the same behavior as if the input were driven low normally (by some input device on the field side).
