TCA9406, Usage as Re-Driver

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCA9406, TCA9517A, TCA9509, TCA9617B

Hi, Support team,

My customer is studying if TCA9406 can use as re-driver of I2C Bus.

Because, the pattern trace between master device and slave device is very log, approximately 10cm. And also, there are a connector for FPC.

Can this device use as re-driver?

Regards,

  • Hi Tamio,

TCA9406 is a voltage translating switch. I would recommend steering them to TCA9517A, TCA9617B, or TCA9509. Each of these devices also have voltage translating features. Please reach out if there are any questions on the following.

    Thanks,

  • Sidy,

    Thank you for your advice.

It is useful for me to suggest the better solution to my customer.

The below is a simple schematic based on his system requirement.

There are two connector between MAIN and SUB.

These connectors can be connected oppositely and mechanically..

At that connection, it turns SW off to reduce the leakage current flowing via the pulled up resister.

    Is TCA9517A available like this?

If there are any concern, please let me know about that.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Tamio
