Hi Sir,

The customer is using SN75DP139. I give the customer the reference schematic of SN75DP13. The customer has three issues about the reference schematic of SN75DP13 . Look the attachment.

The issues are as follows:

Q1: Should be add R1 and C4 on the GND of the DP shell ?

Q2: Should R8 be 100K? Is any other value of R8 OK?

Q3: Look the attachment. Is this circuit OK?

Hi Mickey,

1) R1 and C4 are used to connect connector chasis to GND, this is related to EMI and ESD. There are several ways to do it, the designer of this board chose this one.
2)100k is the value from spec, DP plug side have a 100k pullup and DP receptacle side have 1M pulldown.
3)Yes this is for a type 1 HDMI cable adaptor, spec has a diode in series with a 27k resistor from DP_PWR to CEC. Type 2 HDMI cable adaptor only has 27k from DP_PWR to CEC.
