LMH0387 video Rx mode lock problem

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH0387

Hi,

I cannot get stable SDI signal from LMH0387.

We have custom FPGA board and the part is used as Equalizer.

SDI video has been working for several days. After that it is not working.

I checked the status signal from GTX and rx_mode_lock is not set.

The only concern I have is that in the board we have layout trace and via's underneath the part

and having a dot which used to designate pin 1 which is not good for BGA pin contact the to board.

Please suggest for fix this.

Regards,

Han-Bin

  • Hi Han-Bin,

Is it possible for you to share the layout with us? The LMH0387 has several specific layout guidelines, as it is in a CSP laminate package.

If you have vias underneath the part, it may create a surface that is not completely planar to establish good contact with the package leads. If you attempt to resolder the device, does the SDI video come back?

Can you elaborate about the issue you are spotting with the dot to Designate Pin 1? The LMH0387 is a TLGA package requiring a land pattern as opposed to a BGA package, so I am not sure if I am understanding your concern correctly.

    Thanks,

    Michael
