Asking for the DP130 impedance

Hi Team,

For DP130 differential impedance ,cusotmer's SOC DP output side request 80 ohm , but DP130 input request 100 ohm.

Could you help confirm which target impedance should be met for DP130 input side?

Hi Scott,

From DP1.2 apecification for DP connector it requires 100ohms +- 10% differential impedance on Fixture, Connector, Wire management, for cable it requires 100 ohms +- 5%.

For mini DP connector, impedance connector can be 100ohms +-15%

Customer could try to set an impedance that is withing range for both customer's SOC spec and DP spec.

Hi Moises,

In customer application, DP input signal is from USB Type-C connector.

Can DP130 met USB Type-C differential impedance requirement?

Hi Scott,

Sorry for my late response.
Regarding the impedance of the connector you don't have much to do, it is what it is, but you can set the impedance in the fixture which can be 100ohms +-10%, 90 to 110 ohms.
If you use 92 ohms, it will be within range for Type-c connector and DP fixture, reducing impedance discontinuities.
