Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB1210
TI E2E,
Our products here have been using TI TUSB1210(USB PHY) for a while. The issue is the communication between two USB PHYs which are the same part from TI TUSB1210. One USB is the host mode and another is the device mode. These two parts are installed at two products. I called them product A and B here. Product A can communicate Product B either over Wi-Fi or USB. If there is no Wi-Fi to USB switching during the running time, USB communication had no any issue. If switching the communication from Wi-Fi to USB only through the USB cable plug in between Product A and B, most of our products had no issue. But there was around 20% chance our project A/B USB communication cannot be established when switching from Wi-Fi(working) to USB cable. If the issue occurs, resetting USB device port PHY(running time), the USB communication did establish and work without problems.
My understanding of the observations is that the USB PHY got into an unknown state when establishing the communication, which causing some products working but some products not working. My question is whether USB PHY having a mechanism to recovery such unknown state or not. The resetting USB port is not an ideal method to solve our problem at current moment.
Any comments on this?
thank you!
