DP83620 pin 5 configuration issue

Hi Gan,

Do you mean pin 5 on the DP83620 package? Pin 5 is TXD_2 which is why I am confused when you mention center tap.

Please provide a diagram if you can.

To simply, now i use a diode(1N4148) between Pin 5(anode/A) of DP83620 and 3.3V power supply(cathode/K), does that has a problem?

Pin 5 of DP83620 is TXD_2. TXD_2 is used during MII mode and should be connected to the MAC. In RMII mode, TXD_2 is not used and should be left unconnected. Connecting a diode between pin 5 and 3.3V supply is not recommended.

Sorry for some mistake! Actually, the Pin5 is not on DP83620, It is on TVS(SRV05-4),which is power supply pin. I connected a diode from Pin5 to 3.3V. is there any problem?

Can you please send a schematic on what you are trying to do?

As Aniruddha mentioned above, pin #5 on the DP83620 is used for TX_D2 (transmit data bit[2]). In MII operation, this pin is required, but not used in RMII mode. Please confirm the mode you are planning to operate in.

If you are using RMII mode, you should not connect TX_D2 directly to 3.3V. You need to use a 2.2k ohm pull-up resistor.
