Hi team,
We found that USB3.1 connection (bit5) and USB2.0 connection (bit 4) on data status register (0x5Fh) changes depend on BC1.2 support (bit32) on system configuration register (0x28h) when AC-adapter (PD) is connected to notebook PC. (TPS65982 is in notebook)
PC is DRP allowed PR/DR swap. Our PD adapter is not capable of USB communication.
(Case 1) BC1.2 disabled: USB3.1/2.0 connection bit = 1b
(Case 2) BC1.2 enabled: USB3.1/2.0 connection bit = 0b
That is the same result with TI EVM.
Would you tell us the reason that USB3.1/2.0 connection bit are 1b even though AC adapter is connected?
With present situation, the notebook cannot go to Power Save mode when AC-adapter connected because this USB bit arise disturbs the communication with CPU.
Customer wants that the USB connection bit not arise.
Best regards,
