[TPS65982] Register is initialized on ESD test

Can you provide more details on the Register Settings that were initialized after the ESD test (Reg. 0x##, Bits #s)? Screen shots will be OK.

Why would HRESET be fixed at a high voltage level? HRESET is only used after FW updates to perform a HW reset to the part.

Please provide as many details as possible on the test setup (drawing of the system, ESD voltages tested, PD Power adapter connected, more?)

Hi Brian,

Here is information from customer. 

Following registers are initialized after ESD test on their product. (Only below registers were read at test)

(1) 15h: Contains all-zero, after receiving interrupt (I2C_IRQ2Z = Low).

(2) 20h, 28h and 29h : Contains default value.

Operation : Customer product is notebook PC, add 8kV around keyboard (not contacting).

The customer would like to understand what is the cause of this phenomenon.

I don't think there is any specific reason. The customer check if there is any dependancy on this.

You would need to provide a scope shot of the I2C IRQ2Z signal going low and probe CC1/CC2/VIN_3V3 at the same time.
This is the only way I can provide more assistance.

If the TPS65982 is still working, it should be easy to perform this test. If the customer believes the device is damaged, it will have to be returned for FA.
