DP159 max resolution

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65DP159

Hi Team
       TI device : SN65DP159 support HDMI2.0 SPEC.
What is DP159 max Resolution? I know it can supprot 4K60P , How about 4K120P?
  What is HDCP SPEC support ? 1.4 or 2.0 or 2.2 ?

  • Hi Kerr,

HDMI2.0 spec support data rates up to 6Gbps, you can use this data rate to send the desired resolution, data rate, color depth and chroma sampling.

    4k 60Hz 8bit 4:4:4 requires almost 6Gbps, if you want 4k 120Hz 8bit, you may need 4:2:0 to handle it with HDMI2.0

If you need higher data rates, currently you may need to move to DP1.3 which supports 4 lanes each 8.1Gbps

DP159 doesn't deal with the information transmitted, it just re-transmit it, HDCP is transmitted over DDC, you can use any HDCP version you want we just recommend to use DDC in snoop mode.

    Regards
