TFP410 for RGB TO DVI, clock jitter

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TFP410

Dears

A customer using TFP410 for RGB to DVI converter, and to reduce the EMI, they have used clock dithering method, the RGB clock likely have 130MHz, and have 3MHz dithering, and find that the screen will have flick. so for DVI standard, is there some description about the Clock dithering? or for our TFP410, is there some requirement for the Clock dithering?

Appreciate for your help.

  • Hello,
I don't think the dithering is defined in the DVI spec, regardless, the TFP410 is only a serializer so it will not care about the dithering, you have to double check that your DVI receiver support that.
Can you send a scope capture of the input and output clocks of the TFP410?
