I’m using nine of DS90LV001TLD-NOPB as LVDS-TO-LVDS buffers in a project . The input traces are max 1” long.

Questions:

Do I have to use 100-ohm termination at the input side assuming max 1” input trace length?
Is there an identical part (the same package) with internal termination?

Hi Tom,

You don't have to use them for the DS90LV001 to operate. The DS90LV001 Rx will respond to the voltage present on the input, with or without a termination. However, many LVDS devices require a DC current path to operate correctly - so the answer depends on the driver. If the driver is capable of very fast < 100ps edge rates, the termination may be required in any case since even 1" will be a transmission line.

Thanks Lee. So I'm assuming we do not have a similar device with internal termination, is that correct?

Hi,

A similar part with internal termination is the DS10BR150.

If it is possible to combine 4 channels in a single package, DS90LV804 (4 channels in one package).
