Hi team,

My customer is using SN65HVD230, and found that the CAN bus will have some ringing during toggling as below. The Vid will in worst jump to -1V, then to 0.7V, then settle to 0 slowly as below. -1V seems a little too huge. Could you kindly give some suggestion on how to optimize such ringing?

    Hi Luke,

    This ringing may be due to reflections that are occurring from unterminated "stub" nodes. How are the different nodes connected together in this network - do they follow a linear/daisy-chained topology (which is ideal) or are they connected as a "star" or "tree" network? How is termination implemented? Typically the solution would be to reduce the length of any connections that do not terminate with some resistance so that the reflections generated have minimal impact on the transmitted CAN signal.
