TPD12S520 - swap TMDS pairs for optimized layout?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPD12S520

Using the TPD12S520RMNR (WQFN package)  and laying out the board now.

Are there any recommendations or reference design for laying out the TPD12S520 along with a micro-HDMi connector?

Is it possible to swap some of the TMDS line pairs to improve layout? For example, connect the D0+/- lines on the connector to the D1+/- lines on the TPD12S520 and vice versa.

Thanks,

Denis

  • Denis-

Unfortunately we don't have a reference layout for the TPD12S520 with micro-HDMI specifically, however you can swap TMDS line pairs which should lower the constraints on your layout! As long as you keep the differential pairs in the same location relative to each other, the TPD12S520 handles each of the TMDS line pairs identically. Let me know if you have any followup concerns, and thank you for your question!

    Thanks,
