Hi Team,

The datasheet shows there is 4 pattern to select HPD GPIO Configuration.

I believe I should select "00" or "11" if my customer' s application is DFP_D only, but I coudn't decide which is the better selection.
May I have your advice?

  • '11' = GPIO4 as HPD TX/RX will work in every application where HPD signal is tied directly to the GPIO4 pin.

    • It is enabled as an Output (HPD TX) when the TPS65982 enters the DisplayPort Alt. Mode as a DFP_D.
    • It is enabled as an Input (HPD RX) when the TPS65982 enters the DisplayPort Alt. Mode as a UFP_D.

Since these two scenarios are mutually exclusive (a product cannot be a DFP_D and UFP_D at the same time), it will only work in one direction per plug event. If the application is configured as a DFP_D only, it will always operate as HPD TX.
