my customer would like to use PCA9306 in UART mode and translate from 1.8V to 3.3V. Like this:

Would that work?

Hi Adrian,
I had the same for one of my application. I did not need an capacitor near enable, but I had for the bypass capacitor (100n) an parallel 10uF capacitor.

Adrian,

You are correct. THis translation setup should work fine.

The most important thing about translating with the PCA9306 is to make sure that VREF2 and EN are shorted together and then pulled up to your power rail (exactly as you have done).
