DS90C402 Interface

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90C402, DS90C031

I am using a DS90C402 LVDS receiver in an application where there is a possibility of the Rx input lines being externally energized PRIOR to DC voltage being applied to the IC. Could this potentially damage the device?

The source energizing the Rx Input lines is a DS90C031 IC.

  • Sagar,

The DS90C402 is not supported by the Voltage Translation/Level Shifters forum. I am moving your request to the 'Other Interface Forum' for appropriate support. Thanks.

  • Hi Sagar,

Can you clarify what you mean by "energized" and "DC voltage?" If the DS90C402 is powered down and there is an active signal sent to the device, this should not be a problem. However, if there is some kind of large transient going into the DS90C402, it may be potential cause for damage. If you have a diagram to show what you are concerned about, it will help us answer your question better.

    Regards,

    Michael
