Hi , We are facing a strange scenario here.
We have USB C type AC-DC adapter ( 5V/3A) which powers up our module which has TUSB320 to take care of CC logic
1. Our module is able to power up using USB C type “AC-DC adapter ( 5V/3A)” from vendor A
2. Our module doesn't power up using USB C type “AC-DC adapter ( 5V/3A)” from vendor B
3. Difference between Vendor A and Vendor B adapter is that in Vendor B adapter (DFP side) CC1 and CC2 both path are connected to Type C plug pins., whereas in Vendor A connector only CC1 path is connected CC2 path is open. After removing the series resistor on CC2 path on Adapter B that also starts powering up the device.
4. The strange behavior comes when we use Default Vendor B adapter which has both CC1 and CC2 path connected to Type C plug and used DC bench supply to feed 5V VBUS power in place of its internal AC-DC power circuitry (As internal power circuity was generating 5.32V DC so wanted to rule out if it is issue of VBUS +/- 5% tolerance issue). When we were testing it by varying VBUS voltage from 4.5V- 5.5V to see if it works. It suddenly started working. And After that it never failed with any of the adapters ( doesn't matter if Cc1 and CC2 both path are connected or only one is connected on DFP side.
6. What happens when both Rd (for CC1 and CC2) are present.
