How to identify the TD+ signal from DP83848I at page 69 of data sheet

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DP83848I

Hi TI experts,

regarding DP83848I, there are two documents , SNLS266E and SNOA476C both are on the list of TI's technical document.

at page 5 of SNOA476C, the TD+ signal from DP83848I goes to T1's pin with starting wiring black round circle through R53.

but at page 69 of SNLS266E, I can't identify which is the TD+ signal from DP83848I and goes to which pin of the transformer.

please help me to find the way to identify the TD+ signal from DP83848I at page 69 of SNLS266E.

regards,

Jack

  • Hi Jack,

    In the SNLS266E document, the pin names of figure 7-2 have the following relationship:

    TPTDP = TD+
    TPTDM = TD-

    TPRDP = RD+
    TPRDM = RD-

    There is no requirement to have TD+/RD+ go to the black round circle(dot), but the behavior should be consistent.

    If the TD+ goes to the dot, RD+ should also go to the dot. If TD- goes to the dot, RD- should also go to the dot.

    Best Regards,
  • Hi Rob,
    Thanks for the great answer. I already did the "Verify answer" and put a short summary in another post.
    It's a very important rule for schematic design.
    regards,
