Dears;

I hope this is the right place to ask this:

for XIO3130 PCIe expander: I am checking on how to connect 9 cpus that have PCIe ports together as a bus on Same board..

Can you please give me some advise.

XIO3130 connect to 3 ports; can I daisy chain multiple XIO3130 to connect all 9 CPUs ?

any links and advise is appreciated.

    ASAD1,

    The answer will depend on what the CPUs are.  If the CPUS are x1 GEN1 PCIe endpoints then you could use four of the XIO3130s in the below daisy chain fashion.

     

    If each of the 9 CPUs are actually root complexes, then - no the XIO3130 can not be used.

    dear Harmon; Thanks for the reply.

    the cpu's datasheet says it can be with both end point or root. and says it's based on version 1.1 of the standard. So I assume it means Gene 1!

    I will study datasheets further.
