Can you please confirm the TPS65986 as a sink supports BC1.2 and wont limit to 500mA a source that is capable of 1.5A?

TPS65986 supports BC1.2 and you can check section 8.3.4.8 for more details.

My search fail on that one I must admit. Can you please clarify though:

- once SDP, DCP CDP is detected, I guess the appropriate current limit is programmed to the TPS65986 or is that information available somewhere for the user to set the correct current limit?

- Does it also detect the non BC1.2 standards (apple and samsung) namely?

Hi Olivier,

The TPS65982 can only detect the SDP, DCP, CDP capable device and provide this information to an external controller.

It can't detect Apple of Samsung or any other proprietary standard.
