TUSB2046B Obsolete

Hello,

I have a design that's been using the TUSB2046BIVFRG4.    That part is now obsolete.   Two questions:

1. Can I substitute the TUSB2046BIVFR with no design changes?   I'm aware that it's NRND, but not obsolete.

2. What does the G4 suffix mean?

Thanks.

Don

  • Hello Donald,

Yes, you can use  the TUSB2046BIVFR.There shouldn't be any difference between the G4 and non-G4 versions. Years ago, the G4 version was the 'green' version and probably had some characteristic like RoHS or no Sb/Br, which the non-G4 version didn't have at the time. At some point, those features were rolled out to all of the variants, so now they are exactly the same.
