DPS-DONGLE-EVM not detected by SigCon Architect

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DPS-DONGLE-EVM, USB2ANY, DS125DF111EVM

We just received a copy of the DPS-DONGLE-EVM board, but it does not appear to be working with SigCon Architect.  The DPS-DONGLE-EVM is plugged into a USB port, and when SigCon Architect is run, it reports "there are no USB2ANY interfaces detected".  The Windows PC has been power-cycled both with and without the DPS-DONGLE-EVM connected to the USB port from the beginning, but there is no change.

The DPS-DONGLE-EVM has a green LED, and it is blinking about once a second, with a slight pause after every four blinks.  No change during connection attempts.

When plugged into a Linux desktop, the kernel reports this:

[ 2965.515043] usb 7-2: new full-speed USB device number 2 using uhci_hcd
[ 2965.697085] usb 7-2: New USB device found, idVendor=2047, idProduct=0301
[ 2965.697090] usb 7-2: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
[ 2965.697093] usb 7-2: Product: USB2ANY/OneDemo device
[ 2965.697096] usb 7-2: Manufacturer: Texas Instruments
[ 2965.697099] usb 7-2: SerialNumber: 6C361B510C002400

So clearly the device is successfully enumerated by the USB host.  Incidentally, when plugged into the Linux machine, the green LED is on continuously.

Other forum threads mention USB2ANY firmware updates.  Can you please send me the link for software to update the DPS-DONGLE-EVM firmware, if that turns out to be the problem?  Could it simply be a bad DPS-DONGLE-EVM?

Our target board is the DS125DF111EVM, but we have not yet connected the two together.

  • Hi Peter,

If the USB2ANY is being read by the Linux desktop, this leads me to believe that the DPS-DONGLE-EVM is working, but it may possibly be corrupted. I would suggest performing a re-load of the firmware. I will send an e-mail to you offline with the firmware we have been using.

    Thanks,

    Michael
