Embedded HSM in CAN Transcievers

Hi Team,

Do we have any CAN transceivers that have HSM (Hardward Security) integrated to protect the communication path?

    Hi Jared,

    No, we don't currently have CAN transceivers with this feature. Transceivers tend to be simpler analog devices, so things like security algorithms are typically better implemented in devices that are capable of more intensive computations. If you have any information on the need for integrated security features, though, I would be interested to learn more. This is definitely an area that is increasing in importance as cars become more and more connected to the outside world.

    Thanks for the quick response! You are exactly correct, as cars become more and more connected to the outside world, provisions are being implemented to ensure security.

    I don't have much information currently, other than having a CAN network with embedded security can eliminate the need for a processor to implement the security. I will keep you posted as I find out more.
