Hi Team,

The customer is using DP83848I .

Q1: What is the function for the address pins(COL, RXD1_0,RXD1_1,RXD1_2, and RXD1_3)? When the customer can use the address pins?

Q2: The customer has done two HUBs in FPGA and he needs to connect two PHYs. Can the address pins be used? If the address pins are connected, how to

connected? Please send me the reference schematic for DP83848I.

Hi Mickey,

The address pins are dual use and their primary use is data pins for the transmission of data from the PHY to the MAC.

The pins work to set an address of the device only at power-up of the PHY. See the latch-in timing of the DP83848I in the datasheet.

Can you give me a schematic diagram of how the customer is trying to use the signals?
