Hi Sir,

I download win7 driver from TI WDF USBUART Single Driver (Rev. A) (ZIP3628KB ) 3,844views,03 Apr 2013

It seems our PC couldn’t recognize TUSB3410.

How could I troubleshooting it?

When I plugin in usb into PC.

It will show “USB power surge”. Win7 will shutdown the usb port.

Do you encounter this behavior?

That message would imply a hardware defect. Which hardware are you using?

Hi Clemens Ladisch,
My customer's notebook is Lenovo T430(Win7 64bit).
And they also try another PC(Win7 32bit) to connect TUSB3410.
It also show up “usb device not recognised”

What is the hardware into which you have built the TUSB3410?

I meant the board on which the TUSB3410 is soldered, i.e., the board you've shown. Did you make it yourself, or did you buy it from somewhere?

Yes, TUSB3410 is on my customer's board.
Could you check the schematic for me?

The message "USB power surge" is not generated by the TI driver, but by the OS. It shows that the overcurrent protection of the host controller was triggered. This could be a defect in the cable or on the board (something shorted), or a design error in the circuit.

So do you know how to clarify this issue?

Is it helpful to measure the signal integrity?

Could you help on schematic review as well?

Full-speed drivers must have an impedance between 28 Ω and 44 Ω (see section 7.1.1.1 of the USB 2.0 spec). The datasheet shows series damping resistors of 33 Ω; 0 Ω certainly is wrong.

Why were C185/C186 omitted?

Is VBUS really open?

Hi Clemens,

They tried to apply your suggestions, but PC can’t recognize it as well.
R291,R292 => 33 ohm
C185,C186 => 22pF

Could you please share how to debug?

Check whether there is a short between any of the four USB pins.

Connect it to a Linux PC, and check whether there are any error messages in the system log.
