TPS65982 Register Update Timing

Hi Sean,

There is a debounce time that has to be met before a connection is determined (100ms). Once the connection is determined DFP or UFP it will update the register. If there is PD communication and a PD Power Role Swap is initiated the register will be updated as soon as the swap is completed.

The timing can vary depending on the other operations on the device, such as I2C traffic. Is there a specific timing problem you customer is seeing?

The timing Sean is asking is the register update delay after TPS65982 determine it's role as DFP or UFP

If there are some I2C register changing delay due to device internal property, could you share that delay range?

And is there are timing variation with connecting with PD controller(Negotiate through CC line) and Rp/Rd connecting?

No timing problem, however customer inquired to implement specific special function
