Hi Team,

I am evaluating TPS65986EVM + DP-EXPANSION-EVM with some Type-C devices in the marketplace.

I found USB mouse that is connected U3HC-DC03BBK (ELECOM) can't be recognized (not found) in PC unless USB RP path is disabled as the following.
*U3HC-DC03BBK is powered by its charging port in this case.

May I have an advice why USBRPenable should be disabled in this case?

Hi Yiata-san,

The RP path must be enabled to connect the USB pins on the Type-C connector to the DP_EXPANSION_EVM. Could you confirm that the USB lines are connected (use a meter) through the TPS65986 mux on the EVM.

Check R66/67 and the ESD pins. If you are using Type-C to Type-A receptacle do not connect the USB device and don't have the DP_EXPANSION_EVM connected to the PC.

Hi Jacob-san,

I confirmed it is no problem under "USBRPenable" is disabled (clear the check box).
For example, USB2.0 flash memory is accessible from note PC under the following connection.
"note PC" - "DP EXPANSION EVM" - "TPS65986EVM" - "Type-C to Type-A receptacle" - "USB2.0 Flash memory"

Is there any concern?
