DP83630 vs DP83620 IBIS models

Hi,

Customer has design with DP83630, but now they came to conclusion they do not need the IEEE1588 timestamping feature and are planning to change to DP83620, which is drop in replacement for their design.

However when doing simulation with DP83620 they noticed that the IBIS model available from our web-page has some significant differences to the DP83630 model. And because of this when they change the model to 83620 the simulation results looks bad.

For example load resistance is in 83630 100Ohms but 50Ohms in 83620 model. Also other similar differences. Can you give some info why there is such differences in simulation models and are there really such big differences in the parts?

Hello Jani,

We arelooking into this and will get back to you shortly. The DP83620 IBIS model was updated recently in June 2016. Just to double check, are they using the latest model?

Hi Aniruddha,

Yes, they have downloaded the latest models and they also noticed that 83630 model is much older (from 2013) vs DP83620 model (June 2016).
