I have a customer who is asking the following questions:
We need to perform a proof of concept study where we need to transmit 1080p HDSDI video through a pair of Ethernet quad cable, 100 ohm, differentially. Hence, our interest in your differential 3G HDSDI drivers and receivers.
We need to understand the true drive capability of your LMH0303/307 and receive capability of your LMH0344. They appear to be designed for 75 ohm coax pairs. Are they truly differential? Can they operate in a 100 ohm differential system with TSP?
The eval board for the LMH0344 receiver & LMH0346 reclocker is configured as a single ended receiver, which raised concerns and questions. When we asked if we can reconfigure it to receive differentially across 100 ohm cable, we were sent examples of how this is handled for LVDS, different parts, and we were told that TI never evaluated this differential receiver differentially, which raised more concerns.
Can you address the customer’s questions?
Please let me know if you have any further question for the customer.
Thanks for your help with this!
