Supply current on TRS202E

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TRS202E

The d/s for the TRS202E says the supply current as ICC is 8mA typ and 15mA max at VCC = 5V, no load but not sure how measured the current in detail.

Could you explain the measured method?

I was tried to measure the current then got following result. (VCC = 5V, room temp)

RIN1/2 are open as internal pull-downs are effective & DIN1/2 are connected to VCC or GND: 0.57mA

RIN1 is connected to VCC, RIN2 is open & DIN1/2 are connected to VCC or GND: 1.46mA

RIN1 is open, RIN2 is connected to VCC & DIN1/2 are connected to VCC or GND: 1.46mA

RIN1/2 are connected to VCC & DIN1/2 are connected to VCC or GND: 2.35mA

I know RIN1/2 are RS232C level input so need to feed like -10V or +10V but in such case the input current of RIN1/2 are increase to drive the internal pull-down resister but no change ICC as current on VCC. Then I’m very confusing how measure the ICC correctly.
