How to connect a multiple usb devices to a single usb host(PC)?

Hi,

We have a requirement as shown in the attached diagram. We need to access the USB devices inside the thermal chamber(operating@125C) using the host USB(PC). We have thought of adding a switch/bridge but cannot find any part with the 125c operating conditions. I would like to know if there is any solution for the below mentioned requirement from TI. Please provide your suggestion.

  • Hello Vishal,

What if you use a HUB array to connect all the devices, just keep the USB HUBs outside the thermal chamber.

  • Hi Diego,

We have space constraints inside the thermal chamber. The Space constraint is such that only one usb line can be taken out from the thermal chamber. We cannot take out all the usb lines out. our requirement is to access all the usb devices inside the thermal chamber with one usb host(only one usb line can be allowed through the thermal chamber and the outside environment).Kindly suggest your solution.

  • Hello Vishal,

Unfortunately due to the high temperature requediments it is impossible to have USB HUBS inside the thermal chamber, so the only option would be to have passive switches. The switches capable to work in such temperatures belong to a different grup, so please follow the second post you created, I've moved the post to the appropriate e2e forum.

    Best regards,

    Diego.
