[DP83867IR] compliance test is failed

Hi,

Currently, My customer is doing the compliance test with DP83867IR on their custom board, but they have failed.

The following items are failed.
・1000 Base-T, Difference A,B Peak Output Voltage
・1000 Base-T, Point D Peak Output Voltage
・1000 Base-T, Point F Template Test
・1000 Base-T, Point H Template Test
・1000 Base-T, Transmitter Distortion
・10 Base-T, TP_IDL Template, with TPM (last bit CD0)
・10 Base-T, TP_IDL Template, with TPM (last bit CD1)
・10 Base-T, MAU Template
・10 Base-T, TP_IDL Template, without TPM (last bit CD1)
・10 Base-T, Peak Differential Voltage

And then, my customer have some questions.
1) They are referring SNLA239. They are setting the registers of DP83867IR following this Appendix B.
Is there any conflagration?

2)Is there any register to change the output level?
 I think there is no such register and they need to confirm their hardware(Power supply, RBIAS, Layout....)

    I got the feedback from my customer and the compliance tests for 1000Base were passed. That's thanks to you and Aniruddha-san. They referred to your scripts.
    PASS:
    ・1000 Base-T, Difference A,B Peak Output Voltage
    ・1000 Base-T, Point D Peak Output Voltage
    ・1000 Base-T, Point F Template Test
    ・1000 Base-T, Point H Template Test
    ・1000 Base-T, Transmitter Distortion


    However, the compliance tests for 10base base are failed yet.
    They are using a Link Partner for pattern generation, and DP83867 is setting the Force 10M mode& Reverse Loopback.

    Could you ask you one more question?
    If the input signals from Link Partner were distorted, is the result of compliance test effected?
    So, at that time, the output signals are shaped by Reverse Loopback mode of DP83867?

  • Hi Taka,

    The input signal shape will not effect the ouput signal shape. However, if the input signal is not valid, the DP83867 might not transmit packets back. Can you send a screenshot of what the DP83867 is sending out on the line for 10M mode?
