TPS65982 work with fast charger

Our customer have several questions on the TPS65982 applications:

  1. If they use other protocol charging, if they can force the TPS65982 GPIO turn on the external MOSFET and no impact the PD function?
  2. If the TPS65982 integrated MCU program run into crash, what is the system recovery flow? If it need external AP involve the process?
  3. During the dead battery, if there external Vbus voltage is on the type C port already, the GPIO will turn on the external GPIO automatically?

    Hi Andrew,

    1. No this is not possible. Since we manage the power on the port we don't recommend having an external control of our power path as a source.

    2. It should reset and reload the firmware from flash

    3. Yes the GPIO functions will still work.
