I have a customer asking if the HD3SS3412 can be used in a PCIe application and I have stated that it can be used.

His specific questions relate to when the PCIe link goes to Electrical Idle State or when the PCIe Common Mode signal is lost.

Can you comment on using the HD3SS3412 in a PCIe application and how it would react when the link does go into Idle status or loses the common mode voltage of the signal.

Hello,
Yes, it works for PCIe.
There is no trade off when you don'
t have common mode voltage, the switch will pass whatever is on its input no matter there is no Vcm, you just make sure to not hit the MAX numbers and to have the Selector input with a valid level.
